MCRC was organized 5 days summer camp for school children from 25th to 29th May 2009 at TRC-Training Centre, Vadakadambadi. The programme was sponsored by Indian Council for Child Welfare and exclusively designed for tsunami affected disadvantaged school children.

The main aim of the programme was to inculcate the students, the value of the biological resource of the country and also made them think seriously over the issue. Hands-on-training also organized by the resource persons to understand on the importance of locally available bioresources. Special emphasis on "Identification, management and conservation of sea resources also taught.
