ASCOMYCETES
In the ascomycetes, the
spores are produced, in a club-worm or balloon shaped cell, the sac or
ascs,usually containing eight spores, in a hymenium's. the spores ripen in the
ascus. when they are ripe, they projected from the cell with great force, like
water from a water pistol. the pressure inside the ascus can raise to 30
atmospheres.
