Pathogens are microorganisms (generally) that cause disease. MICROORGANISMS ARE GENERALLY KNOWN AS MICROBES. Microbes <my-crobes> are everywhere. There are more of them on a person's hand than there are people on the entire planet. Microbes can be seen only through microscopes.   Microbes are generally classified into :                             Bacteria                     Virus                           Fungi                               etc. (more discussed in later updates)
